The Whispering Subway

Deep beneath the glowing platforms of the 96 St station, a strange whisper of sound and light drifts through the tunnels after the last train runs. Passengers call it a glitch. Elowen calls it a lead.

When the detectives' scanner picks up a signal that shouldn't exist, they follow it past flickering holographic route maps and humming energy rails into the oldest, least-mapped corner of the subway system — where the city's newest technology and its oldest secrets turn out to be tangled together.

With a robot conductor drone on their trail and the clock ticking before the whisper disappears for good, Killian, Elowen, and Roland have to figure out who — or what — is really haunting the 96th Street line.
